Gotta love these guys.

My sons beagle made it back to the house with a 22 ball in shoulder after an early evening hunt.
Had to open it up and remove the bullet myself while the kid and wife were smooth flipping out.

Anyway be wary around East Texas cause it looks like open season for dogs.

Had a neighbor shoot a beagle once, I asked him why he said it was chasing and killing my deer. He raised large exotic deer for his ranch in west Texas ( fallow, axis and other larger deer ). I said your crazy. Now this neighbor never put much time into building a fence and up until this time I always ran his exotic deer which have no closed season in Texas and require no specific tags back through his fence when they got out. Well after he killed my dog the neighbor hood ate good for a few months until he saw the error of his ways.

In La. It's illegal to shoot a dog unless the person feels threatened for life or injury. I prefer to keep the law out of it if possible. Never had one shot but u can believe if I ever do that person will become my special project for a while.

Around central Texas don't rely on the law enforcement. But as PLP put it I do have a Special project going on. I do believe that revenge is best served cold.

That's why they make different kinds of skinning knives. Because there are numerous ways to skin a skunk.

And a plethora of legal ways to administer a vaccination for stupidity.   Wink

Same happened to my beagle but in the head. Healed fine he acted fine till a few months lster when bullet wrked thru other side of skull. It sucked my first hunter n my gpa thought of him as his dog when his died. Needless to say broken hearts n his heelets n rat terrier had a supride when that nose just peeked thru the fence on our land....

sadly you guys are now startin to get a taste  of laws like here in california that have been in place for years.sometimes it works for the property owner and some  times its just mean and stupid. here you can kill a dog while on your property if he harms or threatens  people , or your property( livestock or inanimate object) or wild animals.this means if a dog makes your chickens nervous just by being there, you can kill it legally. it also means if your dog goes an inch on the neighbors property chasin a ground squirrel or a mouse, he can legally kill your dog. and if they happen on dogs treed or bayin or fighting a hog, bear, coon, etc on their land, the can legally kill all the dogs. then top it off you may get fined for your dogs being at large .

Its alittle different here at least what game wardens i have spoke to. The dogs have to either be a threat to the person or domestic livestock. They can kill a dog for just being on the property to chasing wild game such as deer etc. Hog do not count as wild game because ownership belongs to who land they are occupying at that time. Got him on speed dial around san jacinto walker and trinity county
