My opinion is the blue bag retriever way outperforms the Diamond. Can't remember but I think the first ingredient in the Diamond was corn. Meat and bone meal is first followed by corn in the Retriever.

Can't beat the Victor though. At first I could not bring myself to pay $25 for a 40#bag of food but I feed a lot less and they look great. Good stamina and less poop. Blue bag for the CD's and yard dogs and Victor for the strike dogs. I believe the price about evens out in the end.
if you are talking the hi energy Diamond it is Chicken bi product then corn. Meat meal on the retriever. If you have tried both and liked the retriever i may try that next time. Seems like a few people are having good luck with that and the price is great. with the Diamond i am feeding most of my dogs 3 cups per day and my bigger AB'S get 5 cups. Dogs look awesome but if i can save a few bucks and keep the dogs looking and performing great it is worth a try. Good info. thanks ya'll.

Fed Diamond for a couple years. Price kept going up. Dogs looked great but took forever to wash down slabs due to so much chit. I switched
to Tractor Supply's  Retreiver High Energy and the dogs look even better and there is WAY less chit to wash out. $ 20. per 50 lbs. vs $ 29.
for 40 lbs. of Diamond.

before i switched back to diamond high energy again the other day i tried that retreiver high energy simply cause its $19.99 but i dont think my dogs took to it that great... thats all my buddy feeds and his are great looking... guess every dog has different taste.. also the tsc by my sells both brands in 50lbs
jon, feed a couple bags before you make a decision on dog feed. It takes a while for their system to adjust. Like I said, my dogs look great on the Retriever High Energy and a WHOLE lot less Chit to deal with. I was going to feed it temporarily until I could find a better price on the Diamond but, I'll be sticking with the Retriever brand.
I was thinking about switching also. I looked for Retriever High Energy, but could only find High Protein. Is that the one you are talking about?
