Please dispose of the body if you are going to get the antlers.  I understand gathering antlers for decoration, collecting or rattling.  Keep in mind, some people don't see anything except what's right in front of them.  A dead deer on the side of the road with the head or antlers missing makes legal hunters look guilty of waste.

Protect the shooting and outdoor sports whenever you can.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal... might want to call your local game warden.

i do it all the time. call the local police and report a deer and they will send one out to make a report and you can claim it afterwards but have to take the whole deer. i use it for meat for the dogs if its to far gone for human consumption

That guy does it all.

Don't do it in Texas. Put a add on Craigslist list like suggested. I collect sheds during the spring on the two places I guide on. The dogs love axis antlers to chew on.

It is legal in Oklahoma. You just have to call the gamewarden and get a roadkill tag.

We do it in Alabama. Not sure about being legal or not. You rarely see one hit that still has horns unless you find it quick. People jump on them things.
