Just got the tuff skin antenna for my dc-40. The stock antenna was only picking up at a max of 650 yards then it wouldn't pick up past that. Just put the new stainless steel tuff skin on. Turned it on, drove 3.5 miles and lost signal once at 600 yards but it came back in no time. I was satisfied with that so I turned around. Don't kno how far it will actually go but that's a major increase. I'll try it again tomorrow and let y'all kno the max distance I get. Awesome $15 product from double U!!

I just ordered 4 more of the Tuff Skins to complete the upgrade on all my collars, but I did not get the stainless steel. I know from the other 3 Tuff Skins I've already installed that the range is about doubled. And with my Astro mounted on my handle bars with a longer flex antenna, I don't usually have problems until a mile or so. And then I'll just stop and remove the astro from it's cradle and hold it up, and in no time I'll pick the signal back up.
Keep us posted on the Stainless Steel version.
