Now ain't that the truth.  Humility is always a good trait to maintain.

Ah no feelings hurt here, I've hunted behind some really nice yellas have one thats young and doing a jamb up job, I have no reason to try and prove anything to anyone I hunt because I like to hunt and enjoy working my dogs. I have no breed preference one way or the other. I've seen culls in every breed. I have a buddy here locally I hunt with a good bit that had some really nice yellas I say had because he has lost several in the last couple months to bad hogs. Are yella dogs for everyone I think would be debatable, there are rough lines loose baying lines short range long range you name it just depends on how that particular dogman liked his and bred for those traits. There has been more directional breeding done in the yella dogs than just about any other breed. Are there still culls sure, but are there exceptional dogs out there that can reproduce themselves in their pups more consistently than most other breeds I believe so. If you still would like to get together and go on a hunt and try to put some swine down and have a good time let me know.

Long ways out there from me, if I ever get out that way ill give ya a ring. I don't run rcd or guns, I bring one but have no intention of using it unless its a bad situation developing. What type of dogs do you run, I run my yella male and a cat gyp which are my two best currently.

I dont hunt with many BMC but I have been with a feller in Ar with a BMC named Dusty that has constantly made hogs materialize so I say hes a good dog. I myself have yet to own a wonder hog dog I catch a few here and there but man I can drink beer with the best of em. And we can arm wrestle and see who can climb a tree fastest lol.

Where do you hunt around Giddings?   Also what does range and bottom have to do with a dogs ability to hunt at night. I have hunted with some outstanding dogs as far as bottom and range at night and just like the daytime we caught hogs.

like doggie said whats wrong with night hunting?..i run a very long range black and tan gyp that isnt scared to be rough and we only night hunt..having a long range dog or one with bottom doesnt mean you cant hunt at night.
