I'm in the process of clearing land and getting ready to move my baypen and would like to set it up so that I could host a couple bays in the future. Just wondering what some thoughts are on size are there any rules as to how big or small it has to be shape its built in etc. Any input on things to have or not have etc or you wish were different on ones you have seen or been to. Any input is appreciated. Thanks Brandon

No set rules as far as size goes. I like the bigger pens. Shows which dogs can shut down a runner and which can't. My personal preference 60 ft diameter minimum.

Some people like corners so a hog can set up, some don't so the dogs have to work to keep the hog bayed.

An entrance chute and a small exit pen. That's about it.

Big hogs are preferred. Harder to catch (get disqualified).

Thanks for the input, just trying to get some ideas my current pen is 80x80 square I had some panels in the corners so they wouldn't back in to much and just set the dogs would have to make them set up. I have a small holding pen on it and have figured out it is a pain in the but to not have a chute setup and separate holding pen for them have some ideas on how to fix that already and make it easier. Just trying to get some input on what has been seen and experienced and what you would like to see done differently etc. I haven't held any bayings or anything just done some training with local guys and wouldn't mind holding a few small competitions and meet some new people. Gonna have the pen may as well let it get used as it should be. I'm located in Sarepta, La
