im debating on witch Garmin to get and would like some feed back  only if u have owned one.

what are the the things u like/dislike about the Garmin alpha and astro  and witch collar and other equipment  is better and gives u max range for the hillcontry

I love my astro 320 with the birds eye map add on. I loose signal on the dc 40 at around a mile out if there is thick brush in between you and the dog and if the dog is in the brush 9lots of tall thick palmettos in FL). VHF and the GPS signals get weak in those conditions.

If I was willing to pay the extra cost's on the collars I would get the alpha. The correction feature would be great in some situations (trash breaking pups/preventing young dog from running a deer).

I would say if the cost on the alpha and additional collars is not an issue with you then get it.
