What's a fair price for a 3 year old male dog, half Plott a quarter Bmc and a quarter cat, hunts hard 500 - 800 yards between a hot and cold nose loose bay but not trash broke and open on track, will stay with a runner.

Not an offer but $350-$500 without seeing him hunt but with a guarantee.
Does he strike his own at all? If he does, then more. Again, with a guarantee.

Yeah he's struck a ton of hogs, he's not 100% trash broke but he's a hog dog the only time he trashes is when he's hunted 2 or 3 hours and no hogs.

Not the best pic but seems to be a very nice looking dog...I like the head and ear...nice tight body, muscled up with a short coat...if he strikes hog and sticks as long as it takes then he is a good dog...trashing a little is no big deal to me...if the dog hunts and finds pigs and sticks, then he is worth checking out...if I wanted a strike dog I would give 4-5 hundred for him if he is what you say he is...but with a 100 percent money back guarantee...because what you think is a good dog I might think it is a cull...or someone else might think he is the greatest strike dog ever...

Not necessarily. Alot of people hunt open dogs, hounds, etc. It's more a matter of price preference. Depends on how bad you want to get rid of him vs. how much your willing to take. You may have a price set in your head and not sell him for less than that.

Ask yourself what you would pay for the dog... Or better yet, help a young hunter if you don't need the money. When I first started out I bought, hunted, then sold two culls... Didn't know better. The last two dogs that left my place were given away to hunters in need. I paid for them but i didn't end up liking the dog. i just cut my losses. the dogs were started and i could have made a couple hundred a piece, but helping someone was worth more than the money to me.

How much would you have to pay to replace a dog of the similar caliber?

A silent trash broke dog that hunts, Bays and will stay with a runner like this dog would cost me 2000 the reason I know is I just bought one, but like I say he's silent and trash broke. That's the reason I'm going to sell this dog is because I got a silent dog to replace him. A guy that's hunted with me some is suppose to come get him Monday if he don't I guess I'll put him on the dog trade. I'm going to sell him in the woods for 1200.I think he's well worth that he's a hog hunting fool.

Personally if you like him and he works good for you i wouldnt sell him for any price. Thats just me tho. I understand if he doesnt fit your style of hunting, to rough, to loose, to short ranged, to long ranged, ect... But if he fits you its hard to find the good ones id keep him.

Not being trash broke us what makes me pause. But I only get puppies. So someone that would want a griwn dog may be willing to work with it. But being honest is worth more than money.

I gotta agree with dub, not bein silent isnt realy a big deal, not bein trash broke would knock the price down more than bein wide open.
