Had a couple of pups come down with rickets. From what I understand it is a vitamin D deficiency so we gave them cod liver. Any other ideas on what to do about it?

Buddy had a pup like this a while back. He gave him the cod liver oil daily with his feed. Dog straightened up and you can't tell he ever had it now. Expose them to more sunlight too. Not sure on dogs but I know we get Vit. D from sunlight.

I just had one get it.  About a week of vitamin a, d & e, cod liver oil and wheat germ oil and now you'd never know it.

Just put them where they can get plenty of sunlight and it'll go away.

Dunno if y'all have any sandy areas around there but...

our Dr's always used to advise anyone who had pups come down with that aside from the supplements, to run them through the deep sand....it'll help with the straightenin out of their legs....
