I started with that book and had him goin really well and hunted him last season and i started him on an e collar recently and now he just shut down like he's terrified

Smart works.
Never train with a collar , only correct a known command. Didyou condition correctly

I followed the Evan graham collar conditioning method and that's all I've been doin is correcting known commands and EVERYTIME I bump him with it he wants to run to me and cower down with his head between my legs
