Question: Tournaments or not we are all going to hunt and enjoy it (I hope) at any given time. The possibility of a dog getting injured or killed is always there so why does this even come up as an argument for a tourney. Some how during a tourney when a dog is injured or killed it means more or deserves an argument because it was during a tourney... Why? I have to believe more races and injured or killed dogs come from straight boars than barrs just due to the number of boars vs barrs in the woods...

It's easy for you to sit behind a computer screen and have an opinion on this, but until you live this real life. You have no clue!! I don't care if I offend people.  We are just showing a huge flaw in the rules of tournament hunting by not allowing barrs in the stringer. We've done this way more than 95% of the other Internet hog hunters and we just want to open people's eyes that this isn't a game. We push our pack of dogs to the absolute limit in these tournaments. Sometimes on the last day of tournaments our dogs limp out there on 3 legs, cut up and still do there job. a hog is a hog, and its a shame when they go through all that hard work for nothing. Those same dogs have caught 196 hogs since the middle of January. Trust me we do it for fun, but we enjoying winning and we are good at it.

Even if we just change a few people minds I'll keep bringing this idiotic issue up. And if you have a problem with it, don't read the f'n thread! Erik, Chance and I used to get on this site 4 or 5 times a day and comment/help countless people out on questions, read every thread, etc. We apologized to Mike last time we saw bc now we hardly get on ETHD once every 2 weeks or so.

It's easy for ppl to sit back and comment and form opinions on this but put yourself in our shoes in these tournaments. Imagine that it's YOU out there with your favorite dog wrecked, gutted or even worse case scenario DEAD! And then to top it off we lost roughly $8-9k in two tournaments because of this do itin rule change. If you can still sit there and say you arnt a mad SOB and it doesn't bother you in the least way. I'll shake your hand and call you a better man than us

Tshelly, I respect you and Cward, neither of you have ever been disrespectful or rude to me in the past, I have talked to Chance back and forth on a couple of occasions through PM's in the past and have never had a bad thing to say about him.  I honestly can say that I see where you are coming from BUT people have their own opinions and you have to respect that as well. I see where you are coming from and understand that it can be frustrating as hell but it is what it is. However I don't have the time to hunt tourneys like ya'll do so I don't and most likely wont ever be in that situation and I dang sure wont put myself in a situation to lose 8-9k in a tournament on hogs ( I like my money where it is....in my pocket  Wink).........hate that ya'll lost the money but had you decided not to hunt the tourney not allowing barrs would you have still lost the money?

Tony, I'm not trying to derai lyour thread and I hope that you realize this, I know you lost a dang good dog and a member of your pack to a barr in a tourney where barrs aren't allowed and that SUCKS....there no 2 ways about it. I hope ya'll find a good up and comer to fill the void for the dog you lost AND aside from one other tourney team I will be rooting for ya'll again this coming season, Best of luck to you sir.

You miss understood me. This was not money out of pocket loss, it was potential winnings on two tournaments that in the past had allowed Barrs before the rule change last year... And one has already stated they'll be going back to the original rules next year

We won't hunt the tourneys that don't allow them anymore, last year was the exception as it was the first year the rule had ever been put in place

I respect the opinions of people that are in the same room, not those looking in from the outside

10 4 to what I hilighted in red, you are correct, I did misunderstand you, thanks for clearing it up.......regardless money lost SUCKS!!!

Also, 10 4 to what I hi-lighted in yellow, sounds like the best decision givin the circumstances.

As far as what I have hi-lighted in blue, I would like to think that that particular comment was not directed towards myself.......while I DO NOT actively compete in any of these tournaments I do see and hear just about everything that goes on in the from numerous sources and as an active hog-hunter would like to think that I am not on the outside looking in-----not quite sure how to take that comment but its all good regardless. Good luck to you and your team next year!
