I had her on the front of the Atv , I made a turn and off she went , she was hook up to a short lead and hit on her butt , after I got home she acted sad , we noticed she wouldn't lift her tail , she can move but will not lift , it's swollen about 4 inches from butt , could it be broke , if so will it heal on its own , what can be done , thanks in advance , my wife is taking to vet in the morning

x2 Could have broken it, with the swelling, that sounds like what happened. Whenever we had dogs come in with that issue, usually our Dr would put them on pain and anti-inflammatory meds like Rimadyl, and allowed it to heal on it's own, and some folk even opted to have the tail docked.

Well I took Sophie to the vet , she broke her tail in two places , he said she still had her nerves in place and her spenkter muscle was still working , if this was jacked she would crap on her self uncontrolably and would be a outside dog , not good being she sleeps with my boy , 1800 to put a plate in her back , we decided to give her 6 weeks to heal up , me and my family laid hands on her and prayed that she will have a full recovery and no issues in Jesus name , so for all the prayer warriors out there will you stand in agreement with me and my family , many thanks. And I will update soon , we will give god all the glory

I hate to hear that bob, I hope she makes a full recovery. Why would she need a plate put in her back if her nerves/muscles are ok? I hope that ya'll don't have to go that direction regardless, just wondering why that would be needed...

He said if a plate was added she would be able to lift over her back like normal I guess if it doesn't heal on its own , I can't afford that , my wife told me not to put her up there in the first place so shes extremly mad at me , I'm believing she is healed

I know it really soon but nothing is impossible with god , we've been thanking Jesus for Sophie's healing , my ten yr old , my wife and me have been praying for her the last couple of days , today when I got home she was raising her tail completely over her back and just broke in two places Saturday , this makes my family so happy and gets me out of deep deep water , god is so good , we give him all the glory , I'm trying to keep her calm also , Sophie is now smiling ear to ear and is happy dog again ,

Good deal and I agree, i would try to keep her calm as possible. Id hate to hear she hurt it further by wagging it......lol but i imagine trainin a pack of house cats to hog hunt would be easier than keepin her from waggin her tail. Hope she continues to heal quickly.
