This formula was given to me by a friend who deals with the Vets at LSU on a regular basis. It will kill the larva in the blood stream but not the adults in the heart. Most people give way too much ivomec to dogs and it will only prevent heart worms and not worm them. The adult worms in the heart will die slowly of old age and with no new ones comming along, they will soon be heart worm free.

      1cc ivomec
      9cc propylene glycol
1cc of this mixture per 40lbs

Once it is mixed it will stay mixed and the propylene glycol acts as a preservative. This is 1/10 of cc per 40lbs and will make a bottle of ivomec go a long way. I have used it many years this way and have had no dogs with heart worms. I've had them live from 15 to 18 years.

I had one with heart worms vet told me to treat him with ivomec like a normal dog and it'd kill the young worms or whatever and the old ones will die by theirselves in time. Seems like it worked that was probably a year ago.

That because he can't get all that money it cost to treat one for heartworms. Enough ivomec will either cure them of heartworms or kill them
