This happened about 5 minutes down the road from my house. It's really starting to change out by us and it's a damn shame. You might get past my dogs ( which I highly doubt), but you won't get past my old friend ruger.

That's one reason I left FL and moved to the middle of no where TX. Osceola County was nice and quiet when I was a kid, but too much garbage has moved there in the last 10 years. I refused to raise my children in those over crowded schools alongside a bunch of bums.

Up until the last 3 or so years the area I live in has been a nice place to live. My last few years of high school they started to bring in bus loads of kids from belle glade from a school that was being shut down to my " a rated school". Now I fully believe those kids have every right to a better education, but not when all they do is create fights and cause our school to go on lock down because a fight broke out and a gun was pulled. Loxahatchee has gone down hill because the government is moving scumbags into the foreclosed homes out here.

I know exactly what your talking about and it will only get worse. That is why I love it out here. The kids are respectful, they still say the pledge of allegiance, they still pray, and they still whip their rear ends when they need it.

This sounds like a spitting image of what happened to Beaumont and the surrounding area's after hurricane Katrina "redistributed" so many......... All I can say is get out while you can, it only gets worse.......... Find a nice little town where everyone knows everyone.... things still happen but in a small town word spreads like wildfire and no one can get away with anything for long. And as far as the "they wont get past the ruger" statement, I sure hope thats true but just remember you may only have seconds before an intruder is in your house and in your face.....I had the misfortune of watching the recent news and seeing the guy kick in the front door to a house and cowardly beat a woman in front of her kids.......it made my blood boil to watch and as soon as I got home I made sure that my other 1/2 knew where every gun was and how to use em and to shoot ANY intruder, no questions asked........ I hope you and every other person on this site man or woman on this site is never in that position but that if you are you get the upper hand and get it quick!

I saw that video as well. Just about brought me to tears. I can't imagine what that mother and child ate going to go through for the rest of their lives. Your home is suppose to be your safe spot. How do you explain why that happened to a small child? Just sick.

There was a huge outbreak of home invasions around the area I used to live as well in Tampa. My dogs have always been a good deterrent. Not to say someone can't easily shoot a dog, but have dogs on the premesis does help in some cases. A lot of folks like that want the easiest targets they can get. Such a shame.

My wife called me one day because the bell rang but when she got there she could not see anybody through the peephole. She was worried about someone going around back to get in. I told her to look out back because nobody would make it to the back door. She said, well what do I do if they start to kick the front door in? I told her to just open the back door Grin You might get past one or two dogs. But I got too many dogs. I figure they see all the dogs and decide to find an easier house. My house was broken into before I moved but not since I got here The area is rough but a white guy with no hair, a big truck, and a bunch of dogs. I don't even have to say that I have a gun and I will use it. But they don't know that I might just beat the tar out of them and hog tie em in the front yard kind of like that boy up in OK.

Dogs are definately a deferent. They hear things long before we do. If you don't know something is going on you won't have time to get your gun. I live in the country but worry about red neck crank heads breaking in the steal stuff.

Yup if you get past the dogs then you get to the real crime prevention and the dogs will not let you sneak up. Plus I got an electronic alarm too. You just ain't getting in my house without me knowing.

Yup a dog or two def go along ways. The dog is what buys you the time to get the gun. Thats if they even want to take the dog on. Like someone said earlier most of the time they are only looking for easy targets.

Just a little while ago I was mess'n around and had my nine year old attacking me. I grabbed hold of him, head locked him, and said now I got you. He said yup you got me now you got to deal with me as he started hitting me and pushing me into a chair Grin I was so proud I let him push me a round a bit just for not giving up. He told me the other day that if someone came in he would hit them with something and he would do it to hurt them. Because when we mess around we know where you don't hit because it hurts. So he knows where to hit if he wants to hurt someone. So you get past everything and say you manage to get one on me, then you got my kids sneaking up on you with bats and my wife with a gun Grin Ain't noth'n scarier than an angry woman with a gun protecting her kids.

I haven't seen anything other then people claiming it had to do with race. I about lost my cool with some lady saying if treyvon was white he would still be alive. That's one thing that will make my dang blood boil. I then proceeded to ask her how she felt about them callin white people " creepy ass crackers ". Her response was that's a joking term, and shouldn't be taken offensively. But god for bid I said "creepy ass 'n' ".
