First off I need to say we are virgin hog hunters 2 years in the making, our dogs witch is a make shift crew have come a long way, and we learn something new (good or bad) every time we go out..this story was a 100% loss all the way around...we gathered up the dogs and headed down a road that runs down a valley between the river and the ranch we hunt..we had hunted it going in and was on our way back to the truck after 3 hours with no sign of pig, we had called it quits. About 1/4 mile from the truck my golden retriever Creeksus took a slope up the side of the mountain no other dogs followed. We continued to the truck with the other dogs, Creeksus was missing bout 30 min.  Where the truck was parked there is a y where two roads meet, at this time I heard Creeksus baying up. Coarse I was ready to go home so I was like crap, bout that time I look up the road and I swear a small Shetland pony is running right at me with my retriever on his heals. I yelled at my husband it's a horse release all the dogs, and we turned them loose. The pig past me all dogs after it , it jumped down toward the river and stopped by a side pool and I heard a dog yell out, and new he had cut someone.. When we reached them our three catch dogs had a hold.. I'm talking one 85 pound pit, 65 pound BMC and 55 pound pit, and our other helper dogs holding.. That pig picked the dogs up and went to the pool started swimming .. The water was chest high and mud to chances knees it swam three circles before he could catch his back legs when he came by.. The dogs went under and never turned loose when we drug it to shore..we got it tied and checked dogs , 5 cut (2 needed vet asap )bad so now we are in hurry mode to get this monster and dogs to the vet. It took the three of us 45 min to drag this pig to the trailer.. We dropped the trailer and pig at the house and took our dogs to the vet 1300 dollars later we were back at the house and went to bed.. The next morning I woke up to check on the pig and it was gone, I was sick all that work and it jumped out a six foot tall trailer.. The only proof is these pic my daughter took while we were at the vet and the marks where it jumped out.. This sucker lives in my back yard some where , haven't got up the nerve to go find him..our trailer now has a top Wink
