Me, Ryan and David went early this morning to try an beat the heat. Had Fred, Pistol, Iowa, Jane and PJ! Within 30 minutes Fred bayed this little boar not 500 yards from the truck. Sent Jane and PJ in to seal the deal and called it day cause the bulldogs were spent from the heat after only an hour. I remembered today why I don't like to hunt in the summer. Just not worth losing a good dog to the heat!

I know right we ain't been hunting much this summer and after Sunday morning won't be hunting Jane again until it cools down. If that hog would have broke bay or they had to fight him much longer I don't think she would have made it home. Pistol has a date with zig when she comes in next she is almost three and making a nice dog.

Good hog man and nice dogs also.  Yeah this heat is no joke and it will jump on you and your dogs real real quick.  It got my buddys dog Sat morning and still got another not out of trouble yet.   Like you say man if they break and it turns into a marathon chances of loosing a dog are dang high.  I think I will be slowing down myself .

Thanks guys! We take a lot of pride in our dogs and how hard they work for us. Gotta love it when someone new gets the itch like that though. Soon as I legged it he was hesitating lol! Poking at it... Told him, get in there and stab that sucker. After he took a stab at it I had to dispatch it the rest of the way. He said damn that's a big hog! Lol! Me and Blake just laughed... Naw bro, that's not a big hog. Good but not big... Said wait till you come up on one like the one that's on Blake's wall. That'll make you take a step back. None the less, David is ready to go again and is gona make a decent hand I think. Kelton, when it cools off, I wana come finally make a hunt with y'all! Been needing to happen for a while now.
