Can a snake bite through the Lacrosse (Grange) rubber boots? Where I hunt we don't have Rattle Snakes, just Water Moccacins and Copper Heads. I think you would be OK if they were to strike the uppers but maybe they could bite through the top part of the foot. Anybody know of anybody being bit through rubber boots?

I'm only speaking of my experiences. Been hit plenty times on the calfs walking crawfish ponds by cotton mouths from small to large and none of them ever penetrated my knee high La Crosse. I've seen them penetrate the neoprene type boot though.

I am getting ready to buy a new pair of boots and I've been thinking about the Lacrosse boots you mentioned.  I've always wore normal snake boots but I thought I would try Lacrosse.  I think it depends on the size of the snake and the "angle of the bite".  I believe a good size adult snake with s direct bit to the foot area would penetrate.  I would think a smaller less powerful snake with a "glancing" bite would not penetrate.  I know a lot of guys wear these boots.  I'll be paying close attention to this thread and I hope you get a lot of answers.  The $70 bucks fro the boots is a good price, but one snake bite will have me wishing I paid the $170 or so for the better snake boot.

Look at dans boots. U can get the lacrosse knee high boot either the regular ol green boot or the alpha sport neoprene with rubber coating coupled with a thigh high snake chap as a single unit. That will be my next boot. I will get the lacrosse alpha sport because the sole is much more comfortable walking and I can wear the boot all day walking without my feet hurting. The ol green boot will kill my feet on a long walk or just wearing them all day. I'm a pretty good size fella and hurting feet can make my day real bad.

when in doubt get you a canvas needle or leather needle and just poke it in the boot   lol  wont much stop them .  I hunted all my life in the nasty snake infested river bottoms during the warmer months for coon , squirrel and hogs in just plain ol off the shelf rubber boots and have never been bit . most times in just regular ol pull on work boots .  but I all ways look where i'm going !
