Went to check my dogs and discovered my new pit female I recently bred decided to remove the ear ( half of it) from one of my lead dogs, and mangled his front leg. Thought putting girls between the fellas would stop the fighting guess I was wrong. So tired of having dogs that get along out of the pen, but fight in the pen.

I won't have a dog that fights others all the time. In or out of the pen. I have 3 males kenneled together and they get along fine. Even at eating time they know where to go and to not start anything. You better get rid of her before she hurts him where he can't hunt!

Boils down to the point I try to get across a lot.....bulldogs....never trust them not to fight...no matter how cold/"trained"/mellow or whatever they are. Also why in my opinion bulldogs should ALWAYS be penned/chain/kept separate from other dogs when not working.

Lesson learned, I had bred this female on the 8 th so she was going out of heat. My male is food aggressive and carries it around the pen. so I'm not sure who started it jus no I have to put an extra barrier on my panals to prevent any other conflict.

Yes man, those that have been on here awhile know you well enough to know that you know what you are doin when it comes to dogs, including myself.......chalk it up to a momentary lapse in judgement, chain her butt up and get your strike dog healed up! I have to kind of laugh at the "i wont keep a dig that fights" statement.......i used to have a curr named big boy that would fight with my old dog smoke in the yard when he got the chance.....its a dominance thing at the house in my opinion, you could drop the same two dogs in the woods and they were best buds and hunted rheir tails off together......they arent the only two ive had problems with, just using them as a reference. It all boils down to knowing your dogs and doing what necessary to prevent future problems...... None of the dogs ive had issues with fighting/scuffling around the house have ever been an issue acting up in the woods........ Dogs have moods and attitudes just like people, sometimes the big loudmouth needs a reality check and dogs can't talk it out like people I hate to hear it mam, at least it wasnt worse! Hope your male heals up quick!

All dogs need to be separated, not just bulldogs. Cur dogs are the worst $hit starters of them all.
AnotherRunner, you're gonna come home to a massacre one day... it's not a matter of if, but when.

I'll keep male pups together till they hit around a year old....then I sepoerate. Only adult dogs that ever share pens are male/female.
Attaching that welded wire to your panel works real well Anita. They can fence fuss all they want but not do any real damage.

Maybe so. Been together a year. They ain't packed together, have plenty of room. I can pretty much always control them with my voice from outside the pen. They listen very well. If I want to have dogs that's all I can do for now.

Tie outs work. My hounds are on tie outs. Pit in a pen. I know I can pack all my hounds in the same box with no issue. They get along great. My pit does fine on the ground or on wheeler. I don't trust her bored in the yard.
