Hey there fellow doggers, I'm new to the forum and hogs but not new to dogs. I'm located in the DFW area and I'm really serious about getting into running hogs with dogs. I have not been on a hunt but I'm familiar with most everything included from the risks involved to some of the strategies etc used while hunting. I've done research trying to find locations that I'd be able to get my dogs started and in TX you can't hunt on public WMA land with dogs so I'm left trying to find private land that I'd be welcome to run dogs on, and we know that can be a challenge sometimes. I'm just wanting to get my dogs started on catching while they're young and would love to meet some good people while doing so. I'm not asking for nothing for free because I would pay a reasonable amount to someone that would be kind enough to help me get my dogs started. I also will not be a bother either, I'd like my dogs to see what other dogs are doing and I have a feeling they'd get the idea real quick. I'd be grateful to go on 1 hunt so I sure wouldn't expect to be included on every hunt. I'd be more than happy to go anytime me or my dogs are invited though. I would come alone and I won't ask to bring nobody with me in the future either. I understand people have their circles that they stick to and I respect that. I'd really appreciate if somebody would be kind enough to let me "tag along" or help me get my dogs started in any other way. But even if I don't get any invites I'm still here to learn as much as I can from behind a keyboard about hoggin. Although I'm located in DFW I'd travel to somewhere within reason if the opportunity arose. Thanks for any consideration and happy new year doggers!

U can get on tpwd.com and it'll show u a map and list of restrictions, ill tell ya though grayson county is fine as long as u have some short range dogs, it doesn't take much to wind up on private land here but cooke county is different its right on the river off 901 I think its about 1100acres there

I called TPWD about a month ago trying to determine if I could hunt on public WMA land with dogs and they told me I could only hunt private land with dogs. Is the land you're talking about public land? It sounds like it and I'm fine with that as long as I don't get in trouble for it. I'd like to not piss of any form of authority if at all possible. Thanks again for the info!!
