Well, we went Saturday morning.  We caught this sow first.  Beulah was the first to bay.  When we got to the sow, all the dogs were there.  However, after I hobbled her, I did not see Beulah around.  I checked the GPS.  She was moving out.  Beulah rolled out over a 1/2 mile before she bayed up.  We added Zeke to her, but it broke on his way in.  When they came within 150 yards of the next road, we packed them up.  Shortly after, they caught and killed the small boar shoalt.  2 in about an hour was good enough to head to the house.

The dogs are vocal on track.  They are as open as they come.

Man, two hogs in an hour with those blueticks......just think how many you COULD have caught if you had been hunting curs..... Grin

Just kidding, good hunt but I have to take up the slack for Noah. For those of you that haven't heard, his house got struck by lightening last week and he lost his computer (and his fridge, upright freezer, TV and most eveything else electrical).

I love to hear the hounds run, and have hunted hounds on hogs. I just like the silent dogs on these deer dog run hogs we have. Helps me slip up on them.........sometimes....

Mark,
I'm not sure what Noah would have to do with me.  I don't hunt with Noah.  Whether he is hunting or fixing electircal problems, has no bearing on how much I hunt.

If they can smell it, they will open on it.  As for age of a track, there are way too many variables to say 1 number specifically.  What is old to me, may be fresh to someone who hunts in the snow.  However, a hot track to me, may be a very cold track to someone hunting curs.  If it walked during the night, they should have no problems looking at it eye to eye.

I hear you.  However, I have to be true to myself.  I am not hunting blueticks to tickle anyone's fancy, other than mine.  If a diehard silent hunter doesn't want to hunt arond me, than it only means one thing to me, they have a lot to learn.  There are times when silent hunting is preferred.  That being said, there are never times when it's the only way.  I truely believe you have to hunt the way "you" personaly enjoy it.  I don't let friends dictate how I treat my wife, so why would I let them dictate what type of dogs I run?  I enjoy hunting with new people, but to be honest, I've got access to property to hunt year round.  I'm not dependant on an invite.  If I want to hunt, I load the dogs, after I ask my wife.  LOL!!!!!  JMO!!!!!!!!

Yes,

I have been known to coon hunt.  However, rarely do I enter competition hunts.  Generally, I just pleasure hunt.  Dexter is a known coon hunter.  I've heard great things about him.  Are you the youth that recently won at a youth hunt with Spur II?  I had just read in my Coonhound Bloodlines magazine where Dexter's cousin was handling his dog on a youth hunt.

No I have never hunted any of his dogs. My little brother hunted a couple for him. Just about all the young cousins have hunted a dog or two for him. He has got alot of youngsters started in coon hunting. He has done alot for the sport around here where we live. He's met many of people and is not a stanger to anyone who want to talk coon hunting.
