I have two vests I am going to get fixed back up.  The maker is going to put new straps and stuff on it and patch up a couple of holes.  The vests have some matted dog hair that you basically can't pull out or off of the inside.  I have soaked in water and it still don't help.  Any ideas how to get that matted up hair to come off easily?  I don't want to send them back as nasty as they are now.

I clean mine with a power washer. But common sence goes a long way to keep from ruining the gear. If it's Kevlar it's best to use just water.

Tide and scrub brush takes some elbow grease but will work
