Well David and his buddy Mathew came to the house this morning to help load up dogs round 5. We loaded up Fred, Lady, JR, Blue, Bill, and Doodle. Drove out to the spot and met up with Jeff and Dallas. Jeff brought Domino. We drove down to the bottoms and cut the dogs loose at 645am. They took straight into the brush and started hunting. We crossed and creek and found some good bamboo beds the hogs had made, and the dogs started acting piggy. Off they went... They jumped a sounder and had it bayed for a minute around 700 yards out. The sounder broke and took off back towards us... The dogs ran the whole sounder right in front of us. Big blond spotted boar leading the whole group of about 10. Here comes Lady, then Fred, then the rest of the dogs right behind em. Off to the races we went... Dogs took that sounder 2 miles and stayed with em, so we headed to em. They got separated and all were following different hogs. Fred took off solo and Lady went her own way with JR, Blue and Bill were working there own tracks. We saw two hogs cross the road, so we drove down and cut Bill and JR to em... They went in and found the two and caught out. So I'm by myself at the truck and Fred comes bayed solid by himself while the other guys were doing work. So I took off... Drove the truck down some, got doodle and headed in 500 yards. Got 60 yards from the bay, and Fred has three good sized hogs bayed solid. One of em was a good boar. I cut Doodle loose from 50 and the fight ensued. Lol she got thrown by the boar, and the group split. Doodle and Fred got a good 200lbs sow line out and caught, so I ran in and dispatched her with my pocket knife. Lol what a great hunt and day! All the dogs did well, two coolers for of meat, and every body home safe. Happy Bday David! I had the best moment of my hunting career today, and couldn't be happier with my solo catch. Happy hunting guys and gals! Over and out! Oh, and long live the great state of Texas! Little shoats that Fred kept playing with lol Dallas and JR. Me with my solo sow. I'd put her round 180-200 before we field dressed her.

Thanks bud... and yeah, I'm still smiling about it. I've been after a solo catch for 5yrs now, and if just happens out of the blue. I don't hunt alone too much but I might start after that! Lol whole new feeling.
