I hate the rain as much as the next fire bug, but id rather have the rain and not a dry summer.
Hopefully u can gather all ur chickens up. Im glad it only took out the chicken house and not your house.

lol   I've had enough water this year , as it is this place isn't going to dry out till September . the ground is loosing all it's tree holding power . every step I take when outside I sink in about two inches . like walking on a saturated sponge  lol . just two pairs of my game fowl got out . the pair in that center pen were still inside unharmed  I don't see how  .  there are trees  [ good healthy oaks and hickory ] just plum falling over without any wind at all here around me and all up and down hwy 19 between canton and Athens .  enough is enough but more rain expected next week .

Well again, so much for me driving to east tx and felling some oak trees to dry out for saw logs. Iv been trying to get over there for the past 3 months, but every time im off for a wk, its rained it butt off the week/end before and im not sinking my tractor or tck or both to harvest some lumber trees. Ill have to wait till the fall i guess. There are some 24"+ trees i need to take down for milling but getting to them with a tractor is posdibly impossible without a good winch to yard them and the equipment from the quagmire.

your right Charles the ground won't take it . as it is right now people have just let their grass grow due to constantly sinking and sticking a small riding mower   lol  then while walking you find a gopher hole and ball up to your knees in the ground  .  this ol sugar sand and water don't mix well  .

This is alittle off the tree on the chicken coop topic, halfbreed sorry about that. I just go into the chicken business what's this about thunder killing and web feet. Pls explain I've got a couple hens sitting eggs now, this is the first ones I've tryed to hatch. We've had some bad weather here(jewett) lately, should I expect some duds.

lol  the web feet is just a joke  and personally I've never lost a setting to thunder but I guess it could happen . just watch the humidity if you are using an incubator , too high is as bad as too low and with all this water that sun is going to make for some humid weather the next few weeks  .
