Did a mother x son cross... a few turned out decent, not as good as the parents.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

One of the best dogs I've ever owned was an accidental father to daughter breeding but it turned out extremely well, one dog out of the bunch didn't make the cut and only one lived to be an older dog, they were fearless and that was their downfall, my biggest regret was not breeding my male off that cross back to his daughter, that was before I understood line breeding and genetics, I have a litter on the ground now and if the gyp pup makes what I think she is going to make I'm going to stick her back to her father, the cross that is on the ground now has been made before and the three we weaned all made good dogs, my go to gyp right now is off the same female that has the pups bred to the sire of the pup's belly mate brother, she's what I would describe as a high power hound that most inexperienced handlers wouldn't know what to do with. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the pups I have now make it to adult hood so I can see how my experiments are going to work out. My goal is to keep the hard drive and hunt this line is known for.

The gyp that I described as a high power hound has a problem of over running tracks, I got pups off of her bred to a male who was extremely good at lining tracks out and never made to many bobbles or loses in his career, my luck their going to be super stars and now the sire has been killed so that cross can never be made again. If they meet my expectations I'm going to breed a son off the gyp back to her to try and maintain her side with the added tracking ability that the sire has been throwing in his pups when bred to other gyps. These crosses are a few years out but it definitely has the wheels in my head turning. Line breeding and genetics are one of my favorite dog hunting topics.

we got a gyp were fooling with now if she makes the cut im probably going to breed her back to her dad, i have her brother who is a pretty nice dog and 2 of her half brothers, i just got her last month shes been on the chain her whole life she will be 2 in septemeber so shes got some catching up to do but i like all these dogs thats come off of her daddy so far and if she makes it shes the only gyp i have like them so im either going to breed her to her dad or back to one of her half brothers. i never done the whole linebreeding thing before but id like to keep whats in these dogs and they say thats the only way
