dc40 losing connection

it will track out to around 400 yards and lose the collar then it wont pick it back up until im within 50 yards of the dog this is the only collar it does it to ..has anyone else had this problem if so how do I fix it ?

My first step would be clean the antenna connection. Second step if I had in handy would be antenna. Then update the collar.
