20mi outside of Brownwood in Callahan and Coleman counties. If anyone on ETHD has leased on this property, please PM me. I have a phone # that you need to call.
The land owner, who is primarily absentee, discovered that it had been "leased" when campers began to appear on the property last month.
She has been able to contact two of these individuals through vehicle registration, and two more through them for a total of 4, and is now trying to locate any additional individuals who have been scammed.
According to the "leasers" that she has been able to contact, property was leased out to 10 people, through Craigslist.
Unfortunately, the man who "leased" the property had no authority to do so. She does know who it was and his only access to the property was as an equipment operator. Incidentally, they had discussed his leasing the property early this year and even came to an agreement but his check bounced, he claimed that some other expenses had come up and that he could no longer afford it, and they simply went their separate ways........ Or so she thought.
I hope that no one on ETHD got caught up in this but if anyone did, I have the phone # for the land owner and land owners agent.

I forgot to add.......
The land owner also owns a chain of check cashing stores and one of the "leasers" is a Sheriff. Between them, they are perusing a myriad of criminal charges on behalf of the 5 known parties. They would like for any additional involved party to join in said effort.
