I have recently switched to a new (cheaper) dog food and have noticed that there turds are white and crumbly after only a day or so. Is this a good thing? They never have loose stools. Always hard and I haven't noticed an increase in the number of times they go per day.  Just that they are solid white after a short time.

quite a few cheap dog foods use bone meal to raise the calcium content even though it is not digestible...but it looks good on the ingredients list...same with hair...hair is over 90 percent protein but it is not digestible...just boosts the protein contents...better for sales...

if the bag doesn't say 100 percent nutritionally complete then I would change dog foods...

Are the dogs maintaining body condition pretty good? When all I fed was raw my dogs' stools did the same thug and I was told, by a vet, it was because they are digesting the food so well.

White is high calcium content. You said they poop more often, is it alot or just hard little turds. The frequency could be constipation if it is low volume. Too much calcium does that

they don't poop more often. I didn't mean to make it sound that way. They poop about the same as they did on the old feed (diamond naturals) it jjust turns white now. Quickly.
