We decided to go back down to my uncle's place this morning. We loaded up Woodrow, Dang-It, Sam, Tanner, Twister, Pancho with three catchdogs Jack, Lucy and Dodge (after that big hog last weekend). We still have 5 dogs hurt from that hog but they are all doing good. We turn out again on the west side along the creek and head east. We almost get out of my uncle's place when my wife hears a bunch of noise coming out of a brush pile. A big boar comes running out heading back west, in the direction we had just came from. Two dogs are close to us and I get them on the trail. My brother had radioed that the other dogs are out in the field. I tell him to head them toward me. When he does, a sow with a bunch of little pigs comes out in front of us. The dogs start catching the little bitty piglets. My other two dogs hear all the commotion and come back to the other dogs. After two hours of catching piglets, the dogs get tired and hot so we decide to load them up and head home. As we are coming out of my uncle's place, we turn onto the paved road and see the big black boar right in the middle of it. He looks at us and heads into my uncle's place. All call my dad and my brother's telling them what we had seen and that I was going home to get some more dogs which is 5 minutes away. We get there and unload everything except Jack. We load up Pinto, Pablo, Ruger and catchdog Tough. We get back there and turn out right where the hog had crossed. About 5 minutes and all I hear is grunting and I call everyone letting them know we have the big hog caught. He manages to break loose but only goes about 20 yards and they have him caught again. My wife and I get to them. We try and try to flip this thing but the dogs are making it difficult. We finally get him flipped and my wife sits on his side holding him down with the dogs still holding him. I get my knife and it seems like he knew what was coming as he shot straight up, throwing my wife to the side. The dogs still have him caught. My brother shows up with his bulldog which joins in the battle. We try to flip him but with him and the dogs fighting, they are making it difficult. This time I have my 22 with me and I put it up to his head and down the beast. No dogs hurt.
