My 7yr old son (Todd) went on an "adventrue" into the woods by our house the day before yesterday and said he came up on some hog tracks and that we needed to hunt behind our house.  There isn't much hog sign around our house but he was very persistant in asking so I told him that we would make a short hunt yesterday.  I wasn't expecting anything more than exercise for me, Todd and my dogs Gus, Nellie, Ike and Maverick (3 month old pup that wanted to tag along), but Todd was right about the hogs.  About 1/2 mile behind my house Gus struck this boar in a thick briar patch and Ike made the catch.  By the time I got the hog legged, all three dogs were caught on him.  This was the first hunt that Todd and I have been on by ourselves and we had a great time.  He is alot of help and very quick through the woods.

The black dog (Nellie) and the tri color dog (gus) are brother and sister.  I have no idea what they are, they showed up at my house when they were about 3 months old.  They have another brother (tanner) that my brother-in-law has too, he is solid tan with yellow eyes.  The vet has there age now at about 20 months old.  All three are turning out to be excellent hog dogs.  They are gritty, short to medium range hunters with tons of bottom when they it a hot trail.  I wish I new where they came from.

If you have a thought on what breed they might be, let me know! Grin
