Well i haven't been able to hunt, since i been out of state working, and my wife took this week off to spend time with me, so when we woke up this morning she told me she wanted to go hunting. So i called a friend to come with us in case i needed some help, wife won't get tooo close. lol( she likes to watch but don't like getting to close) so we turned loose around 10am it was around 60 degrees. i took my main strike dog butcher, and a 13 month old brindle cur gyp and a 10 month old half redbone cur cross of my buddies, well all the dogs hit the woods so we started driving around waiting on them. We saw a deer come running out of the woods and just a few seconds later ole butcher sounded off. My friend was convinced butcher was running a deer, i haven't seen him run deer in over a year and half, so i didn't say nothing. then u could tell he was really hammering down on him, then i heard my lil gyp roxie got there and started baying. SO i took off that way with the catch dog, and it sounded like the dogs were already trying to catch it by themself so i turned the catch dog loose, i heard the dogs running so i knew it broke, within about 100 yards they shut him down again this time i heard him grunting so i was pretty sure they had him caught. When i got there i noticed blood everywhere when i flipped the hog, i could see why, he had some decent teeth about 2.25 inches and they were broke off. my cd got cut pretty bad under the throat and through the vest. That was the first time the vest has ever been worn, and the last. Ended up taking him to the vet cause i had a feeling the main artery in his leg was cut, and it was. SO 93 staples later and a big vet bill i got to leave with my dog, atleast he is alive. That was only his 8th hog to ever catch and the first time he has been cut. He is going to be out of commision for a few weeks, my catch dog that got cut sunday is doing real good, i think she will be ready to hunt this weekend. I guessed him around 200lb. what do yall think

i bought some foreceps and reloaded on staples and stitches yesterday from uglydog ranch. i think those forceps and stitches would have been pretty handy when your dog got cut. and only 10 bucks.... i think

YEA HE WAS CAUGHT REALLY GOOD FOR ME. IM GLAD MY LITTLE GYP CATCHDOG IS HEALING UP FAST, SURE WOULD HATE TO NOT BE ABLE TO HUNT FOR A FEW DAYS.LOL I GOT A FRIEND COMING DOWN TOMMOROW THAT IS GOING TO BRING HIS DOGS, WE ARE GOING TO LET MINE REST TOMMOROW.

OH AND HE IS ALIVE IN THOSE PICS. THEM DOGS ARE A LITTLE ROUGH ON THE EARS. LOL I BETTER GET ME SOME RUNNING SHOES, IF THEM DOGS STAY CAUGHT TOO LONG THE HOG MAY NOT HAVE ANY EARS AT ALL.
