Mike invited Heather and I to the rice fields Saturday. The dogs hunted hard and put us on this ( rare for us ) blue eyed sow . Took her to Bellville meat market after the hunt and can’t wait to make some delicious meals with her haha

That is a rare one. She must've had some catahoula in her. If you catch a merle colored one you'll know for sure

Several years ago I bayed a big Russian colored boar that had cut down and left a dog laying on 2 different occasions "previous hunts". I always struck him in the same small area and he always ran across a big creek to a real bad thicket and before I could get there with a bulldog he would run over a dog and leave running. He had cut a dog down on this night as well but I still had one after him, found him bayed a couple of miles away and slipped up there and sent the catchdog from about 100-150 yds, when I hustled in there this hogs eyes were glowing red, was too busy to think much about it and tied him down and drug him to the nearest road. Rode on home and got the trailer to retrieve him. Next morning "in the daylight I went out there to look at him closer and could see he had no cutters but his whets were huge and without much curl and his eyes were sky blue, he did not have  white hair on his grizzled body yet had blue eyes. He was the first of only two I have ever caught that had blue eyes. Have also caught 2 blue roan colored hogs, not blue buts but solid blue roans. The odd things we run into in nature.

That sounds like it would've been a neat sucker to see. I've never seen or caught a blue eyed hog. We were called to come catch a white boar once. We found him and caught him. The only color he had was a black patch a shade bigger than a golf ball around both eyes with piercing amber colored eyes. He was a wicked looking dude. I'll bet these blue eye ones really are.
