Been night huntin out of respect for goat hunters. Woke up about 2:45am and wallered around the kitchen drinkin coffee till about 9:30. Loaded the dogs and went to the feed store. Headed to my deer lease to fill feeders. Nice and cool here in North Texas this mornin. Noticeable North wind. Kicked Rousty & Sandy out and sent them to the first feeder. They worked a 200 yard radius around it. Sandy came back in and Rousty pushed 800 yards North. Let him work for about 10 minutes and started heading his way. Got half way there and heard a pack of coyotes go ape number 2. He came back in on a rope. - Gathered him up and drove to the bottom to fill the feeders. Got done and let my temper get the best if me and said screw coyotes. We are goin to bay a hog. Cut the dogs and headed down the same trail he left on. Both dogs grabbed the track and fell bayed 560 out. Walked Jet & Carlos 20 yards out and cut em. Caught a warrior of a boar. Been blessed this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s a nasty looking dude for sure, congrats on the last few hunts.
You should name the dog closest to the hog camo. If it weren’t for the vest you wouldn’t even be able to see it.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Thanks fellas. Ol Jet (camo dog) is a solid hand. She’s 10 or 11 years old. Stag/AB cross. Reliable, handles good, just a pleasure to hunt. A little better pic of the boar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also got a call from a landowner that a group of hogs were in his hay field. Loaded Sandy & the catch dogs and pulled in the Southeast Gate to use the wind and cut them off if the headed East. Sandy worked around and took about 15 minutes to find them. She never said a word but I heard the hogs rallying in her. Got about 100 yards out and sent the catch dogs. Caught a couple 100 pounders. Sandy rolled off on them another 600 yards and quit and came back. She actually caught the black sow. She’s not my style of bay dog but she sure likes to get after em. I had to chuckle at her scuffling around with that sow. She thinks she’s a catch dog.
