If your female has strong heat cycles on schedule every 6 or 8 months…what is the commercial dog food or homemade mix you feed?

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Sportmix 24/20
Two sisters, 10 years old this July and cycle every spring and fall. Don’t know if it’s because they are kenneled next to each other or not, but they cycle together every time.

My female comes in heat every six months like clockwork, I switched them to Victor hi-pro about three months ago. She didn’t have her regular heat cycle this time (as of yet), no spotting at all but my male keeps trying to mount her so I know something is going on with her. She’s almost six years old and never been bred.

It seems some of the higher quality dog foods cause females to have incomplete heat cycles or none at all…some claim it has to do with some of the vegetables used that messes with the female hormones…others say it has something to do with iodine content…

I feed the orange bag of Pride, I think it’s 27/20. All my females cycle together pretty routinely, I believe around 6 months. No issues with any of them coming in to heat

I have had only a couple of females that did not cycle twice a year IMO it does not matter what you feed them, as long as they are in good health they will cycle twice a year. There is always exceptions but I do not believe it is food related.
