I had a ole friend call me up to let me know he would be intown for a few day's. So I asked him if he wanted to go make a hunt with us. This was the first time he has every hunted with dogs. So we meet up around 9pm and headed out. We got out to the milo fields and kicked the dogs out and they took off. The dogs hit a hog trial and headed into the wood, but didn't get on anything. So we got the dogs back up and headed back to the milo field and the dogs took off into the milo field. It wasn't long and they had one bayed up. We got around to the other side of the field and got out to the dog's bayed. Cody and Heath was the first on site and legged and tied the hog. We left the sow there and continue hunting, but didn't get on anything else. My buddy Brian had a blast, this was his first hog hunt with dog's and he is HOOKED. Here are some pic's of last night.

Big old sow and looks like some happy guys. I like taking people that have never been, it either gets them hooked or makes them think you are absolutely crazy...one or the other...sometimes both!!

I have taken guys from NC, Ohio and Montana over the years and they all were ready to move to Fla after hog hunting with dogs. They liked it that much. Course, their wives pretty much vetoed that idea....... Tongue

It was kind of a slow night for us but I'm glad that Brian got to see the dogs in action. I love the look on peoples faces when they see it for the first time. I guess that it brings back all the memories and excitement of the first time I put my hands on a wild hog. Its a very addictive sport.  Grin

I still get fired up after 30 yrs and think I will still get fired up for 30 more years if I live that long.It is a lot of fun the first time you see someone walk up on a bay, especially if its a good fighter that gets your heart pounding. No better sound in the world than a big ole hog squealing to get you pumped up,if that doesnt get you excited you must be in a coma Grin
