We decided to hunt my uncle's place this morning so I loaded up Repo, Kate, Pablo, Tanner, Bear, my new blue gyp Zelda from Mr. Paul and catchdogs Lucy and Dodge. My brother took his strike/catchdog pitbull Booger. We turned out at the gate and headed east. We walk hunted for almost two hours and no bark. We come to some plowed fields that a farmer owns and I get with my brother and Dad to see what the plans are. We decide to hunt a creek that continues to go east right behind these fields. As my wife and I get about halfway down my nephew calls over the radio saying he seen two big hogs heading across the field up in front of us and that they might be heading our way. In about 10 minutes we get to him and my brother and I ask him are you sure you seen two hogs coming across the field and he said yes he was sure as we have now met up with them. So now I am thinking what's up with my dogs here. I told my brother that I was going to continue down the creek because the hogs could have turned and went the other way since we were coming from the other direction. My wife and get maybe 10 yards past them when my old dog 11 yr old Repo throws up his head and runs straight north. I tell my wife get ready and about that time and 400 yards out, he goes to baying. Then I hear another dog and another baying. Then I hear the catchdog hit and the fight was on. I call my brother on the radio and he says that we have 2 bays going on and that him and my nephew are heading to one. My wife and I get to the other bay as both bays are maybe 30 yards apart. When we get to our bay I see Booger on the snout, Lucy on the ear. Zelda, Repo, Kate, and Pablo are helping them out but the hog is just dragging them around. I get up there and grab the hog and my wife takes care of it. My brother calls us and says that Dodge, Tanner and Bear have a huge spotted sow caught but they had a hard time with her. He said Brandon got to them first and they were bayed up under a fallen over tree. He said the dogs were standing back as they had taken a beating going in one at a time after her. Brandon was carrying his 22 and said he got up to them and when the sow stuck her head out he put two into her. He said she dropped so he put his gun down to put leads on the dogs. He said he heard a big grunt and the sow had gotten up and was charging him. He didn't have time to grab his gun but he did jump up on a fence. The hog was trying to grab his pants legs when my brother got there and finished her off. She was one of the biggest sows we have ever killed. Another good hunt with a few dogs with minor cuts.

Paul,
Yesterday was Zelda's first hunt with us and she hunted out with the old dogs like she had been doing it forever. She will have no problem fitting right in.
