I KNOW THAT HUNTING NATIONAL FOREST HAS BEEN DONE AWAY WITH, BUT IS THERE ANY OTHER PUBLIC LAND OPEN TO HOG-DOG HUNTERS HERE IN TEXAS OR LOUISIANNA?

You can hunt in the National Forest (here atleast). I talked to the game warden while unloading my dogs saturday and he said there were about five other hog hunters down the road from us.he told us to keep off private land and asked me if we were having some sort of competition and i told not that i knew of.

The Sam Houston is the only one you can't run dogs in anymore. I believe you can and always have been able to run dogs in the others... Crockett, Sabine and Angelina.
Might call the forest service to be sure.

Yeah, I talked with one of the guy's at the Forest Service in Kennard about a week ago, and he said that as long as a piece of land was designated National Forest and not WMA then it was ok to run dogs on it.
Does anybody know about Wilderness Areas?

the only type 2 wma that has a hog dogging season is the white oak wma, its only about 20 days long.
