My male cat got a bad limp after running him. Rested him up a while and he seemed ok. Then the limp came back. Vet said he had a tear in his tricep tendon. They said they could do surgery or i could rest him up and see if it heals on its own. Anyone ran into this before? Vet said to give him atleast a couple months of rest and see what happens. Thanks

i would try the rest first..
i had a gyp get a tendon cut in her back leg by a big boar, just a 1/2" long cut right on the tendon. i had no option but surgery, it is a major deal , she chewed the stitches out twice finally got it healed up. she gets along okay but nothing like she used too.

my cusin had a dog that got his tendon cut in the back leg an never took him to the vet an it heeled up but the bottom part of his leg just flopped unless he was on a hog an he would use the top part of his leg at the joint like a foot but it would get really raw in rough terrain!

It is his front right leg. Been resting him for a month and a half now. Dont want to put him back in action too early so hopefully another month and i'll start trying him out.
