Went out with a couple buddies Saturday morning and put the dogs on the ground about 3:30. My buddy brought his redbone and a cat help dog. We decided last minute to go ahead and take the 4wheeler instead of walking so we could make it farther down the creek before it started getting too hot.Grit ( Redbone ) hit a few trails on the way and opened up, but came up empty each time. We move the other dogs on down the trail and one of my yella dogs get one lined out. They bayed him for about 20 seconds and he broke, and didnt plan on stopping anytime soon. I loose signal after about 900 yards, so we go back to the 4wheeler and hook up the long range antenna. Both of my dogs were showing bayed at 1.18 miles. We head to them and they have a decent boar bayed in the creek. This was my new bulldogs first solo catch in the woods, so i wasnt sure how well it was going to go. I cut him loose and he goes in and hits, but the hog knocked him back. He tried to break but my saddle back gyp turns him around and the bulldog plows him back into the creek. We get him legged and hobbled, and finally get him out of the creek after the bulldog snapped a cable lead and then pulled a tree out of the ground to get back to him, but i couldnt have been more proud of him. He has come along way in the short time ive had him.and we sure was glad we decided to take the 4wheeler too!  Grin
