Well first of all finally got Boarninja(Alan) and stick-n-move(Bryan) to let me tag along Grin. Was beginning to wonder if they really didn't like me much Wink. But I realized it was just that I have a hound now. After running late (won't say why) from the time we agreed on we made it. It was already hot, and boy was it dry. No sign, and no hogs. Wasn't from lack of try the dogs hunted good and we got our excersize for the next 2 years. It was just nice to get out with some good folks and let the dogs run. The bawl of an inexperienced and bored hound was nice too. Alan, Cody is already begging to go again, he enjoyed it and his mom is ticked cause thats all he has been talkin about.
Then a spur of the moment hunt at camp lastnight left me smilin', had dogs collared and loaded in 15 minutes(a record). Hit several places that have produced in the past with nothing. My brother told me of a spot he'd seen while fishing and when I arrived there WOW. A stretch of shoreline @8' wide and 100yds long was destroyed, dogs were going nutts. But due to the previous rain they just couldn't line anything out. So we kept down the road, just like that Fatgirl(my new plott) threw her head up and took off, Lilly(my lead cat dog) did the same. As did Lacie. Fatgirl popped out for a second on the other end and returned to the brush. Seconds later the silence was broken by a long bawl, followed shortly by several choppy barks. They bayed for just a few seconds and the race was on. I waited for awhile to see if they would stop but never did, at 2 miles away I decided to head thier direction. As I got close I ended up intersecting Lacie and Fatgirl on the crossing roads. Lilly was still grinding but I also cut her off on the road. I led the dogs just 30 yds ahead from where Lilly came out and we found where the hog crossed again. And in the dogs went, this time Lilly only made it 40 or so yds in and opened up drifting closer and closer to the truck. Then the bushes exploded and out popped a whopper!! Just 10 yds in front of the truck, big and bright in the headlights. They ran it as far as they could but lost it at the river. This would have been the biggest yet from the camp if we'd gotten him. But I was still happy as my very new to the sport older plott hound is the one that initially found him. And she did great in the fact that this is just her 5th time in the woods hunting. Maybe it would have benn better if Lilly's pads hadn't been blown, maybe a lil faster maybe not. We will just say the dogs were tired from the morning before Cheesy. But I'm pleased, can't catch all the time anyway....! Just if Lilly would have had Meangirls help!!!!!

Alan Cody was the highlight of the day! He was about all I had to smile about that morning! If we could have seen into the future, I am sure we all would have just went on to church!
That hound is welcome to hunt with use any time also. At least I wont have to worry about her getting out of your rig in heat since she is fixed! Evil  Grin Ole Ray just wont hunt with a friendly female around! lol
It was some kinda hot! You would have thought I was melting if you saw me.

Glad to hear that your hound found her one. We will see to that one when it cools off a bit!

Rockin-P, I also wanted to add some plott to my lacy, but knowing my luck this plott I have is gonna be one of those sure nuff one of a kind dogs. Bad thing about that is she was givin to me to foster as a rescue dog and I decided to keep her. But no breeding she is fixed, so my luck she will be exactly what I've been wanting in a hound...
