i got a blu gyp last yr, hunts long and hard just a lil catchy, also 14mth(maybe 15 16) bmc male, comes from good stock. when its just them 2 my bmc pup stays gone with blu dog. he has found his own pig.but when other pups or close range dogs are around he stays close, hunts butcloser than i like. is this normal? and how do i keep him from being a close range dog? or can I? also i just got a yr old kemmer mt curr, shud i run em together or will they just play? opinions please, ill take whatever ya got!!!!! i hunt alot but never been to a bay pen. just figured if my dogs are gonna be woods dogs they need to be in tha woods, not a pen?!

I have all ways been told to never hunt a young dog with a dog that does stuff you dont want yours  to do

I would hunt the kemmer and the bmc pup with the blu dog. Just make sure you deer break them. The only problem with hunting 2 pups is that they may trash and might not want to give it up easily because they will encourage each other to stick with the off game.

Eventually the pups genetics will kick in and the pups will hunt short, medium or long range. In my opinion the dogs will primarily hunt a certain way mainly because of their heritage/breeding and not because of their training. Training is secondary.
