I thought it was just for this board to avoid a word that some people misunderstand. I know it is easier to use around my kids.

Gyp- a young bitch, normally one that has not been bred

I always took it as a gyp is to a dog, like a philly is to horse, or a heifer to a cow

And a b@#*h is to a dog, like a mare is to a horse, or a cow

The way I was told the g is for good the y for young and the p was for prospect. But with the crowd I run with there isn't much telling.

Google gave me "Gyp- a young b[!+]ch, normally one that has not been bred." So then when people as an old gyp is that technically wrong? If i use the correct term will my post get deleted?

the term gyp is use as a word with means to be riped off or robed and the two weeks that the dog is in heat gyped the houndsmen and so came the term gyp

I don't think that is the correct origin, but it sure sounds good to those that don't know any better.
