It has been so long since I have discussed any of these dogs I forgot most everything that I have heard about them.

I got some blood from Cole McVeay over the past five years or so that comes down off of working stock dogs.  The infamous dog in the lines are Joe and Fatty, from around Buffalo and Mexia.

Anyone other than Cole and I still hunting this bloodline of dogs and what do have you heard or witnessed about the dogs?

Thanks,

Joey Young

Joey, is the Fatty dog the one that was owned by Bill Hobson? If so, I believe Drue on here has some dogs out of him?

Mike, I do believe you are right. Fatty was supposedly a great dog but was bred to almost everything and anything so I don't know how he really produced but I would like to know how he hunted. In my experience with that blood they tend to have great nose, hunt deep, and a lot of heart. Gritty but not stupid for the most part. Did you ever hunt with Fatty?

I hunted with Fatty around 9 or 10 years ago, I believe right after Mr.Hobson bought him. He was pretty impressive that day. I believe we caught 7 or 8 hogs, while we were tying, he was rolling out and baying another one. That's the only time i've ever hunted with him, but heard a lot of good things about him over the years.

Scdogman's "Valdez" dog is off of Fatty.
