I have graduated from Sul Ross in Alpine Tx I raise and train some of the best cattle dogs around and just so yall all know my dogs have to track and find cattle in mountain areas and harsh weather and hard terrain they do not take much off of cattle when they go through all of this they are 100% cowdogs the ones that decide to be lazy I train them to be hogdogs and well they have all learned to be 100% hogdogs I work cattle 4 days a week and when I aint working I am with my family I have an ag degree in cattle producing and well I also am a ag vet so I do come to the board with a little help so maybe I can become a great resource . I hope that I can help just one some how. Thanks, Garrett Barrow

Welcome to ETHD Garret. I am assuming that you are the same Garret Barrow that worked for Bob at the Eppenauer Ranch? It's a small world ... Sure have heard a lot of stories lately that start with "Me and Garret....." Cheryl, that used to work for Bob was at the house a couple weeks ago shoeing a few horses. And I imagine you'll recognize the brand on these cows If not the brand, how about the ugly mug on this fella? You've probably even run a few hogs behind these dogs.. Brandy (above) Chili (below) Dan (bottom) If you get a chance, PM me, or give me a call 832-689-2786 I need to ask you about something. Thanks, Chris

Welcome,
Graduated 93' from Harvard on the hill myself. Ran hogs there from 89 to 93 in those lovely mountains between Alpine and Ft. Davis.

That is funny Chris because when I first saw SulRossGrad I thought Ben had signed up and then I started reading the posts and realized it wasnt him. I have heard a few of the "This one time me and Garrett" stories and they don't typically disappoint. Look forward to hearing some stories and seeing some pics Garrett. Matt

Welcome aboard Garrett! I spent some time in Alpine as well, had kinfolk up there for awhile. My father inlaw took his first sergeant job for the DPS in alpine. Not to mention some of the best cowboys graduated from Sul Ross

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...
