Yes you can sell hogs in Florida. Up till bout a year and half ago I was sellin a load on a regular basis. A load bein anywhere from 30 to 50 hogs. Somtimes less. I was sellin to game ranches in the south Florida area and a place in Ocala. But not so much anymore. With the economy the way it is they say they're not sellin as many hunts as before. Been hard for me to get rid of even 5 or 10 hogs. Really dont even try to sell any anymore. But yes you can sell them if u locate a buyer. You would need to register with the Dept. of Agriculture and get ya a "Feral Swine Dealer Identification Card" and all that good stuff. Its a hefty fine if ya get caught transportin a live wild hog Wink

I have the card you are talking about, just never have tried sellling any. I got it so that I would not have any problem,,, I even have the holding facility permit.  people now day's are very funny when it comes to that sort of thing.  Like every one else I catch what my dogs find and some times they find some real good  hogs, and some times its just a nice day in the woods.   thank's for responding and the help

Years ago there was a company called Southern Wild game that use to have buy stations around Florida.
They would pick them up from the buy stations and haul them to Texas.
You can sell them at the auction in Okeechobee but I don't know how much they go for.

I talked to the ag rep here in Okee that does the permits and he said they were told that they arent "suppose" to sell them because they arent registered and most the potential buyers are not registered with the state but they do not always check in on them if you know what I mean Wink

Goose, I believe with all the buying stations the meat is exported over seas.

A lot of game ranches in Texas also buy hogs to be turned out and hunted.

I know of a guy in dixie county buying, I saw a sign that tiger island outfitters was buying any size hogs and will even come pick them up if you have a big enough load. J&R outfitters in Indiantown is buying good toothed hogs.

Your not going to bring much selling them at the auction in okeechobee right now, the prices always jump up right before 4th of july though, but when they are selling them out there they want smaller bbq sized hogs as long as their not mangled.
