Ivomec is a preventative and if done right the dog should not have gotten heart worms, if done once and the dose was high enough and since the dog has heart worms it safe to say they are mature parasites the worms should have died and caused a heart attack. Sounds like a bad deal.

Call the guy up and see what He offers.  I would say if you have a good dog then treat the dog it is worth it for a good dog. But if the dog does not survive then I would expect a replacement. But the seller might just offer another dog. Give them a chance. I had the same problem and was given the choice of taking another puppy or treating the dog and if it died it would be replaced. Turned the tech could not read the test and it was Lyme disease. But the dog is fine and I paid the whole bill. I am very happy with the dog and the man I got her from.
