Does anybody know of a place to hunt mule deer? Me and a buddy are looking for a place to go for his 30th birthday. Probably gonna need a outfitter too.

Clay, is this going to be next season, right? Do you have an idea of which state your planning on going to? Or, are you looking for somewhere in Texas?

Clay,

You might call Herman Meyer at Midway Deer Processing. I was talking to him a few hours ago about a Mule Deer hunt he is going on this coming week. Might be worth a call to see who he is using and exactly where he is going.

You can also call Ben @ 979-733-6036  he is out west, near the McDonald Observatory. They have muley hunts on the ranch.

Clay, if you can hook up on a hunt near the McDonald Observatory I can tell you from experience there's a bunch of good mule deer over there. Several years ago my dad and I got to hunt a ranch that was a few miles south of the observatory. It was beautifull country. We hunted for two days for javelina.  In two days of hunting we saw 82 whitetails, over 100 mule deer, and more antelope than we could count. We saw lots of game on that ranch. The man that owned the ranch where we hunted was named Johnny Wofford. I no longer have his number. But, back when we hunted the ranch he would sell 3 day hunts for the mule deer. I don't recal offhand for how much. But, I guarantee you there would be lots of game spotted on his ranch. I can ask my dad if he still has his number but I doubt if he does cause it was over ten years ago that we were out there.

Oh, and we both got a javelina on that hunt.  Grin

Ya it will be next season. Just trying to find a place now so we can book it and start saving. My buddy wants to go for his b-day.
