Okay, got an average dog on a package deal. She is very close range, will bay and find her own hog. She wouldnt go out the first few times i hunted her, and then once she got use to me, she started going out and hunting. Once again, very close range. She didnt work for me, so I put her up for sale, and was very honest about her. Had a ton of guys that wanted her. Put her up for three hundred dollars. One guy text me over and over, and text me till one oclock in the morning. He just had to have her, and wanted her at six oclock in the morning. So i went and met him, and sold him the dog. Once again answering question after question. I guarnteed her to hunt, find a hog, and bay it. No other guarntees. He took the dog home, hunted her once, and now refuses to hunt her anymore, and wants his money back. He says he doesnt like her style of hunting. The dog has had no chance yet, and i told him it would take a few times of hunting her, for her to get use to him. Again, he refuses to hunt her anymore. I did not guarntee her to "fit" his style, just to hunt and find her own hog. It feels like he wanted a two thousand dollar dog for three hundred dollars. I'm not trying to be a prick about this, and dont want a bad name, but this guy is wearing me out. I sold a three hundred dollar dog for three hundred dollars!!! How do you know anything about a dog unless you hunt her?!?!??!!? Shes no super dog, shes not a five thousand dollar dog. She is exactly what i represented her to be!!! What do I do? ??

I would take her back and just be done with him. 300 dollars for a dog that will find its own hog is easy to sell.

A dog worth selling should be a dog worth buying back. If its not worth buying back then it is probably a cull.

Buy her back. Sounds like your a better man than he is. Just my opinion. There's a market for that dog. If he doesn't like her he won't be good to her. Yes, by all means buy her back. You'll feel better in the long run. Shucks , you just might decide to keep her. stoeger9 CLINT FROM FLINT TEXAS----TEXAS THAT IS "THE MORE I SEE OF SOME PEOPLE THE BETTER I LIKE MY DOG" REMEMBER: TRY TO BE AS GOOD A PERSON AS YOUR DOG THINKS YOU ARE!

Check the dog out and make sure she is in the same shape as you sold her,if she is give the dude his $ back and get her back.If shes as gooda dog as you say then someone will buy her and probobly be pleased with her.If it was me I'd sell her in the woods.I know when I buy a dog I want to see it hunt before I buy it.If the dog dont fit their style after they leave w/her after watchin her hunt then its on them.

i dont think you should be obligated to take the dog back, if you represented it 100% honestly, and are sure it is like you said it was, but taking it back may be the easiest way to deal with it. i sold a cow dog once, same kind of deal, it was a mediocre cat dog that was pretty standoff-ish. the guy took it home turned loose as soon as he got there, it went across the road and for 2 days off and on bayed the neighbors cattle and he couldnt catch it. he called me cussing and hollering. i drove up in the yard, whistled and he came and got in the truck. i gave him his money back. sold the dog to another guy, he loved it. he came back and bought several pups from me. sold another to a guy i knew on trial. he was really rough. i told him he was good for catching bigger cattle, but wouldnt bay on pairs. he'd catch a calf every time. he was taking care of somebody elses cattle. 2 months go by and aint heard from him. went to his house and he said the dog died. wanted to know if he still had to pay for it! he didnt like it but he paid. i figured the dog got on some calves and he or the owner shot him. either way, it was in his care, and i had warned him.

The dog is the only one suffering if you don't take her back. People don't often take care of things they don't like or want.

x2, I am hard to please when it comes to hunting dogs. I usually would sell a dog for 150 dollars and it would be a real good dog. To me a dog should really be good or it is a cull, no in betweens.... A real good help or me too dog is a not a cull when it is running with good strike dogs. To me a me too dog is taking up valuable space in my back yard but is not a cull for certain hunters/situations. A real long range dog that doesn't start hunting good until he is out at least 800 yards is a cull for me but quite a few hunters like these type of dogs. I like a dog that hunts 2-4 hundred yards around me as I travel but will range further out If I stop. This type of dog also will stick to a track for many hours if needed. If the dogs are not seen in 15 minutes get the tracking system out because they are trailing or are bayed. There are lots of hunters who don't like these type of dogs. I can't say this dog is a cull but for whatever reason he did not like the dog. I would give him his money back and sell the dog to someone who really likes this type of hunting dog. If the next hunter wants their money back then you need to keep the dog or cull it.

i hate selling dogs because people in their mind always think the dog is different than it is or they have convenced them selves that they can make it better. Further moore somethimes finshed dogs yes even finshed dogs have bad days, You cant hunt them just once with a new pack and a new person. But if she does not bark on track i will buy here for 300

But the dog back and forget about the buyer, if you dont he will prob abuse the dog worse than he is doing now. You have to make the decision, is this dog worth the negative waves this buyer it generating and will the dog be in harms ways if i dont. You know what to do so go do it and find another buyer for the dog, good luck..

quite a few cur dogs will not hunt for a stranger until they accept the new owner as the master. I have seen top notch dogs quit hunting for the new owner for at least several months and then they start hunting cautiously, and then they turn on just like they used to hunt with the prior master once they accept the new one.
Can't say this is what is going on but something to consider.

I really appreciate all your advice on this one guys. And even though the whole deal pisses me off, and I feel this turned out to be a real big hassle, and I have learned a real big lesson, I'm gonna buy the dog back. If this is what a "trial" is all about, then its not for me! From now on i'll sell a dog and let the buyer come and hunt her with me, and then it will be sold "as is". So if any of you guys want her, she will be for sale. She might not fit every ones "style" be she is an okay dog. If she was perfect, or a super dog, she would be a thousand on up. You can call me at 469-297- 0215.

He already wants his money back and and refuses to hunt the dog anymore after only one hunt? His wife must have found out how much he spent. Lol Take the dog back. He don't deserve it.

if he cant get her to work after awhile, thats one thing, but if she works the way you said, and he just doesnt like her style, tell him like they do at Sallisaw horse sale. "if you need your mommy to help you decide, you should go get her BEFORE you bid!"
