Team Brute (Andy Garcia, Jesse Balboa, Myself and Cesar) had a great time hunting in last weekend's tournament.  Friday night and Saturday day were tough on us.  The temperature got over 100 during the day which made hauling the dogs (6 hrs) tough on them.  The heat and road travel took its toll.  Especially when you ask them to start hunting right when you get there.  There was also no wind Friday night.  Things just weren't clicking for us.  We resolved to just start having fun and forget about our desires to do well in the tournament.  As soon as the sun went down Saturday, we started catching hogs.  We rotated dogs the rest of the night and caught hogs the entire time.  Lots of sows and shoats but a few nice boars that allowed us to end up with a decent weight for the tournament.  I really hope things work out again for this group of guys to team up again for next year's tournament.  We found our groove that second night.  And if we had that from the beginning, we could of done better.  Looking forward to chasing more DESERT hogs with those South Texas DESERT dogs!

Just in case anyone is wondering, holding two fingers in the pic was the tournament's "SPECIAL RULE".

It was tough fri night and sat morning. The dogs acted like they've never bayed a pig. But sat afternoon into early Sunday morning the hogs got stomped. We started bayed and catching like we needed to the whole weekend. None the less it was fun. We all had a blast.

Good job!

Thanks for clearing that "two-finger" thing up.  I saw that on other team's posts and starting thinking it was gang infiltration into hog hunting.  Next thing would be hog hunters with cans of spray paint marking out their turf.....  ......    LOL!
