Found this snake. I caught it, put it in a shoebox and gave it to the kids to play with. What kind of snake is it?  Just joking you might notice the head. Even with rat shot I always hit the head. I was leaving my dad's Monday and my dad called. I almost did not answer because I thought he was messing with me, But he said he was standing there with a coral snake to go grab the gun. I got over there and that thing was very hard to find. But kept moving the leaves and grass until I saw the head. Now it is a good snake. |

Oh yeah that is a coral snake that will kill you dead. Red on yellow killed by this fellow. Don't let the kids play with that one!

We used to find them in the yard when i lived in La. They say they can only bite you in between the toes or fingers, I aint takin no chances.  |

It's intresting hearing all the old rymes used for this joker. The one I was brought up with is "Red and Yeller Kill a Feller" "Red and Black is a friend of Jack" But guess the momma's and daddy's used what ever the kido's could remember. Good pic.. You relocated him...of course.......  |

You relocated him...of course....... I heard red on yellow kill a fellow, red on black venom lack. At least that is the one I remember. But I don't find many of them. Lots of copper heads, cotton mouths and rattlers but only a few coral snakes in my life. |
