When I was a kid I had an old man that would buy all the catfish I could bring bring him. I know he had to be selling them. Are they sold to markets or restaurants? I used to run lines and catch lots of fish so he must have made some money.

here in okla. you cant sell game fish or game animals , most catfish that are sold in restraunts are pond raised channel cats from fish farms , really not as good to eat as a blue or flathead , you cant clean the yellow out of there meat ,we can sell pigs because there not a considered a game animal

In Texas you have to have a commercial fishermans license. I think there is also a limit on how much you can sell.
